About Us
Melbourne Flames was established in 2005 and has grown from small beginnings to be one of the most competitive dragon boat clubs in Australia. We are renowned for success in local and international dragon boat competitions and are current Victorian and Australian champions in numerous categories. Our Head Coach Serghei Cucsa held the position of Head Coach to the Australian Dragon Boat team from 2010 to 2019 and many of our members are Australian representatives.
At Melbourne Flames, we celebrate diversity and are proud to be an LGBTQIA+ inclusive dragon boat club. Since our founding, we’ve built a community where paddlers from all backgrounds feel welcome, supported, and respected, and believe are fundamental to a successful and thriving club.
